As a writer, Teri has been a journalist, short story writer, music columnist, and arts news writer/editor. Her stories and photographs have been published in Snowboard Magazine, Frequency: The Snowboarder’s Journal, Alaska Snowboarder’s Journal, Alaska Southeaster Magazine, and The Hooligan, an arts section of the Juneau Empire. She’s also written articles for the Capital City Weekly; Anchorage Press; Pacific Currents Magazine, Alaska Verve; Alaska Women Speak; and Childhood Education Journal.
Teri has published three book and CD sets, including Listen to Learn: Using American Music to Teach Language Arts and Social Studies (2004) published by Jossey-Bass, A Wiley Imprint; Making Music with Children: An Easy Way to Make Music with Young Children for Non-Musical Adults (1996), and Music By Correspondence (1988) for the Alaska Department of Education Centralized Correspondence Study.
As a prose writer, Teri has published short stories in 101 Words (2024) and the University of Alaska’s Explorations, receiving top prose choice in 1985. She has Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the Institute of American Indian Arts.
